Approximately 50% of products such as oranges, tangerines, lemons and grapefruits in our country are exported abroad. The remaining part is offered for sale in wholesalers and chain markets to be delivered to the end user in the domestic market.

Citrus products should be subjected to the cold chain after harvest.

After the product is harvested, it should be stored in the Citrus Cold Room until it reaches the end user or production facilities such as fruit juice. This requirement preserves the external surface image and freshness of the product.

If the product is as if it was freshly plucked when it reaches the end user, it is easier to sell without loss of economic value and economic gain is achieved.

What are the storage conditions and preservation period of the products to be stored in the Citrus Cold Room?

Orange can be stored at 6-8°C for up to 5 months.

Tangerines can be stored at 5-10°C for 1.5 months.

Lemon can be stored at 14-15°C for up to 5 months.

Grapefruit can be stored at 8-15°C for up to 6 months.

Citrus products such as orange, tangerine, grapefruit need moisture during storage. The freshness and vitality of the product is preserved by humidifying according to the need with the humidity devices, which are an equipment of the cooling system.
